Dancers can learn as many dance moves as they want … hundreds … but they’ll never feel the real heart and soul of Rock’n'Roll until they don some retro gear. There’s something about dancing in a Teddy-Boy jacket or petticoat and circle skirt that adds to the experience.
Somehow it channels the vibe from that era and brings with it an energy that just can’t be faked. In street wear it’s just steps. Put on the right clothing and suddenly it comes to life. The dancers in this video are a great example. The dancing is raw and vibrant. You can tell they’re really into it!
